8 years ago, my young cousin was diagnosed with leukemia and my family was left feeling very powerless watching a 2 year old go through chemo. We signed up to do marathons through TNT and really felt like we were making a difference with our fundraising and even our training. You're really pushing yourself to run the race for those who can't and that type of emotion is incredibly motivating.I followed my first marathon with another marathon and then came to work for TNT. I've been honored to have met so many inspiring cancer patients and survivors, many of whom are our Honored Patient Heroes. While my cousin is healthy and well, I still know that many people out there are fighting a battle with a blood cancer and just last year, we lost one of the most incredible people I've ever known to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I now run for Gabby because she signed up to do a marathon with Team In Training but relapsed and lost her battle before she could cross a finish line. She's now my greatest inspiration to keep crossing finish lines and raise money for LLS.
I hope that everyone one else is just as motivated by the Team!
